Atley House

This Concept Design was for a house on a flat and sunny section in Queenstown. The client brief included a palette of several materials, and strict floor area/size requirements. I took the palette of materials and did not want to produce anything that was a miss-match of materials. I worked with the concept of 3 materials on 3 distinct forms that intersect each other. By offsetting the second storey I created a coherent covered entryway, that wasn't tacked onto the house as a lean-to roof. Essentials such as wood stack and boiler were considered as integeral with the building forms, rather than additional to the forms.
